Hi everyone! Welcome to EN101. I'm your instructor, Brian Oliu. This website is our main hub for everything that we'll be discussing in our class this semester. Throughout the course of the semester, you will also be creating your own website that you will add your assignments to--at the end of the semester you will have a complete functioning website/ePortfolio, which will hold all of your work from this semester. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at [email protected].
This website hosts your assignments for the semester, but also hosts models & examples of what is expected of you in the course. It consists of five main parts:
Daily Assignments, which take the form of blogposts. These are small assignments that will be due each week. Sometimes they are written assignments, and other times they are more multimodal: videos, images, audio files, etc. Each week, you will be assigned a task to accomplish. These assignments will take the form of “blogposts” on your Weebly ePortfolio website. Your blog post will be due by 5pm each Tuesday. After 5pm, you will receive a zero on that assignment.
About Me, which serves as an introduction to you.
Bad Song, which is a memoir-esque assignment about a song you despise.
Profile, which is a biographical essay about one of your classmates.
Playlist Reflection, which is a musical look-back at your semester as a whole.
Our full syllabus, including course information, schedule grade breakdown, and First-Year Writing protocols is available for download here.
